The motivation that drives us daily in our work as landlords of our charming swiss vacation home is you – our guests. For this reason, we are very proud that we can already call many of our guests „regular guests“. After all, there is no greater praise for a landlord than a repeat booking with us. With this we say thank you to all the people who – coming from the most different countries of this world – already stayed at the IGLSON and felt at home. At the same time we would like to invite all those who have not yet visited Davos or the IGLSON vacation house to come and stay with us.

Why Iglson
IGLSON the „artist’s house“ represents the sense of freedom of the renowned and once internationally active designer and artist Ernest Hofmann-Igl. I as his son (hence IGL-SO(H)N), Till Hofmann, consequently want to offer you with our exclusive vacation home an oasis of relaxation and inner contemplation with visible inspirations from my father’s creative period, as my father also used it for inspiration in his time.
The preservation of what exists and progress through innovation.
Ernest Hofmann - Igl
The designer
Born in Prague, the Sudeten German Ernest Hofmann-Igl, whose real name was Hofmann, graduated from the Commercial Academy in Karlovy Vary in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich. After the war he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist in Munich. He enjoyed a high reputation as one of the first illustrators for important school book publishers (Pieper Verlag, Oldenburg Verlag) and distinguished himself as an internationally sought-after industrial designer. In 1962 Ernest Hofmann-Igl moved to Rosenheim, and at the age of 60 he retired to Sylt. He later made his home as art director of Leica Microsystems in Davos, Switzerland, where he spent his retirement until his death in 2001.
Ernest Hofmann-Igl was a multi-talented man, which is why he successfully made a name for himself as an industrial designer as a universalist with a broad approach to new ideas.
Retrospectively, Ernest Hofmann-Igl can therefore refer to brands such as Linde (forklifts), Pelikan (fountain pens/ink color bottle/office supplies), Tesa (adhesive tape dispensers), Claas (combine harvesters), Eicher (tractors), Romika (rubber boots), Hillebrand (lighting), Werndl/now Steelcase (office furniture), and many more, whose products he decisively influenced at that time.
The artist - sculptor and painter
Ernest Hofmann-Igl was also successful as a graphic artist, painter, stage designer and sculptor, which is why various sculptures, sculptures and paintings still serve as showpieces in exposed locations. Examples are:
